Coldplay have a new album coming out June 10th and have decided to release their first single to the public as a free MP3 on there homepage. It is called "Violet Hill" and in my opinion it is a bit different to the classic Coldplay sound and it will definately grow on me.

The lyrics definately seem to be about someone protecting a loved one by not sharing the horrific truth about war, religion and politics. And if this is any indication on how juicy the lyrics will be for the whole album, it should prove to be as successful as Parachutes, A Rush Of Blood To The Head and X&Y.

Below is a link of a sample studio version of The Music's new track called "Strength In Numbers" which will also be the title of The Music's third studio album. The album is said to be released sometime in June and is surely an album I cant wait to hear. "Idle" and "Fire"will be on there, also a track they have been playing lived called "The Spike".

The Music will be coming to Australia in August to play Splendour In The Grass at Byron Bay, but hopefully they will be playing at other venues around Australia.

M83 are an electronic project from the southern coast of France. They have been around for some time now and remixed songs including "Pioneers" from Bloc Party and "Protege Moi" from Placebo. Saturdays=Youth is a delightful album which has rich sonic synths for which M83 is well known for.

Just thought I would share some links to some great tracks by Icelandic band Sigur Ros. They will be coming out with a new album very very soon and have recorded and played some new tracks to small pub crowds in Iceland. You definately need an acquired taste to really enjoy this type of music, however in saying that, as my musical tastes have developed I have grown to love and enjoy Sigur Ros. Enjoy these tracks including a link to a new song which was played at Sirkus, Reyjavik, and I will post their next album as soon as I get my gritty hands on it.

Van She, once again another electro synth pop Australia band under Modular Recordings. However this band has a very distinct sound which has clearly been influenced by music in the 80's which can be seen in the track "Kelly". This band is due to release a full length album called "V" later this June.

Mr A-Z is back and he is releasing 3 extended plays called "We Sing EP", "We Dance EP", "We Steal Things EP" to promote his upcoming album called "We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things".

These new tracks contain the same Mraz quirky lyric format as seen on his previous albums. "The Dynamo Of Volition" is a prime example when Mraz sings "Best friends are hitting on my sister, trying to tell them that they still wish her, cause she's already got herself a mister, and besides thats gross, dont want to diss her."

If you get a chance to catch this musician live, dont regret not seeing a wonderful performer with a great band.

80's new rave and post punk are just some genres of music which has influenced electro band Cut Copy. The Melbourne based band has already released their debut album "Bright Like Neon Lights" on Modular Records and they have proved not to be one hit wonders by bringing out a chart topping second album called "In Ghost Colours".

Tracks such as "Hearts On Fire" and "So Haunted" were released as singles and extended plays far before "In Ghost Colours" was released in late March 2008. The album was featured on Triple J and proved to be successful as it hit Number One in the ARIA Album Charts on the 30th March 2007.

"We were just hanging out, showing each other what music we like" and "we weren't trying to start a band," was how Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser firsted met at Wesleyan College and later formed electronica/synth pop band MGMT.

MGMT short for Management, is a band that resides from Brooklyn, NY and Oracular Spectacular is their debut album since signing with Columbia Records/Red Ink/Sony in 2006.

Their mesmerizing synthesizers and electrical riffs are prominent in tracks such as "Electric Feel". Surely an a band to watch with an impressive debut album.
